Have you ever opened the camera on your phone and it's on selfie mode? No matter how good of a day you are having that moment can ruin your confidence.
Instantly, you start asking questions like, "Is this what I look like? Is this what people see when they look at my face? Why would anyone ever spend any amount of time talking to me?"
That surprise, low angle, triple chin, low res camera image of yourself is never a boost of confidence.
It's on those days that I am thankful the Bible says "the LORD looks at the heart." - 1 Samuel 16:7
We can spend so much time focusing on our outward appearance but remember that "The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart." - 1 Samuel 16:7
What is the condition of your heart? Is it a triple chin, low angle surprise selfie? or is it a beautiful, well-lit, high angle professional image?
Whether you are a beautiful model or someone who was told they had chocolate on their neck* remember the Lord looks at the heart. Focus on making that heart a reflection of a good and loving God!
*The other night Brooke looked up at me and said, "Do you know there is chocolate on your neck?" 😂
