Social media and the Internet have changed our culture - good in some ways, maybe not in others. Our instant access to the world at large brings convenience and accessibility to all the things, all the time. Daily UPS deliveries are the thing for this Amazon Prime girl. With just a click, I can learn the news, the weather forecast, the closing time for a store, and the score of the game. Super.
But that same click can take me someplace else. Scrolling my feeds, I can quickly divert to a place of insecurity and “I’m not good enough.” I can’t make the Pinterest project that well, I’m not invited to the get-together at her house, and, dang it, my kids are excelling in those areas. Ugh.
Sometimes, it’s a daily battle to keep my heart and mind focused on Jesus’ truth:
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. - Psalm 139:14
God makes wonderful things; God made me; I am wonderfully made. That’s your promise too!
