I am so excited to be sharing today's DIY project with you all --- how to make a shadow box display for your button collection! Whether you already have a button collection, or need a reason to start one, this project is for you. And with minimal supplies needed, you can certainly knock this one out in an afternoon.
You could make one out of buttons you've collected while traveling, pins you picked up at vintage or thrift stores, or like mine, out of a collage of walk in love.'s inspirational buttons and pins!
I can't wait to see what your collection looks like! Be sure to tag @walkinlove (or myself, @brookecourtney) on Instagram if you make one for yourself!
DIY Button Collection Shadow Box Display
- Shadow Box Frame
- Cardboard (cut to size of frame insert)
- White Fabric
- Hot glue
Cut a piece of cardboard to fit inside your frame. Cut white fabric 1" larger than your cardboard piece and glue all around the edges of the back side. Open your buttons, pulling the pin out a little further than it will rest naturally. This gives you the ability to push it down through the cardboard and keep it in place. Randomly attach your buttons! I started with a few in the corners and along the edges, to make sure I didn't get too close to the actual edge of the frame. If you'd like, save your favorite buttons for the last layer you attach. This way, they're closer to the top and easier to read. Once all of the buttons are attached, set the entire piece into your frame and hang it on your favorite wall!
TOTAL TIME: 35 Minutes
