Remember the song you sang in Sunday School?
This little light of mine. I’m gonna let it shine
This little light of mine. I’m gonna let it shine….
Verse 2 was my favorite.
Hide it under a bushel? NO! I’m gonna let it shine! (Repeat loudly several times, dramatically flinging back your bushel hand on the ‘NO!’)
There was no way my little girl self was going to hide my light.
Until I got older, and I did. And sometimes still do. Shame on me.
My small space in the world is filled with people who are hurting, sad, searching, and fearful. They’re walking through really hard stuff, stuff that is deep and very real. Jesus in me is the hope they need. He’s the light for their darkness and the healing for their brokenness.
He’s too good for me to hide from them.
Let’s go after this today. I don’t want to hold back because I’m afraid or I don’t know how they’ll respond. I want to risk being vulnerable and share Jesus with the people who need to know. I want to proclaim LOUDLY how good, faithful and capable He is!
Join in the chorus, you desert towns; let the villages of Kedar rejoice! Let the people of Sela sing for joy; shout praises from the mountaintops! - Isaiah 42:11
