The world wants perfect, so give it to them! Perfectly imperfect, that is.
Here’s the reality: there are things we are great at and things we suck at. AND THAT’S OKAY! God has wired you exactly how he wants you to be. Everything from the way you talk to yourself using different accents when you're alone in your room, to that place (or places) of your body that you can’t stand to see in the mirror every day. The Bible tells us that the second (and equally important) commandment is to “love your neighbor as yourself.” Ask yourself... Do I love me? Right now, in this very moment, could you name 10 things that you love about yourself? If you’re anything like me, the answer is simply, no. Thinking of 10 things is a daunting, difficult, and overwhelming thought.
Maybe the first step to loving the world around us is to start by loving ourselves. Take a step today in the direction of embracing all that you are and being okay with all that you are not. Let’s be a community of people who give the world every bit of the messy situations we find ourselves in and stand confidently in who God has created us to be. You have been, are now, and forever will be, enough.
